Revenue seizes truck and 25,000 litres of laundered fuel at Dublin Port

Last night (07/08/2017) at Dublin Port, Revenue Officers stopped a truck, based on routine profiling. The truck was about to board a ferry to Holyhead and was said to be carrying “apple juice”.  Revenue officers inspected the load and found 26 industrial bulk containers of fuel.

Revenue seized the truck along with approximately 25,000 litres of fuel, suspected to be laundered marked gas oil.

The driver, a Northern Ireland national in his mid thirties, was questioned and investigations are underway, with a view to prosecution.
