Update: Drugs seizure – Joint operation between Gardaí and Revenue in Cork and Kerry

Yesterday (16/02/2024), as a result of an intelligence-led operation, Revenue officers seized 546kg of synthetic drugs with an estimated value of €32.8 million at Cork Port. This seizure was made as a result of a joint operation conducted by Revenue’s Customs Service and An Garda Síochána.

A follow-on operation investigating drug trafficking and organised crime offences, is currently being conducted by the Garda Kerry Divisional Drugs Unit. Two firearms have been seized by Gardaí arising out of searches conducted. Two men in their 40s have been arrested and are currently being detained at Garda Stations in the Kerry region. Investigations are ongoing

This seizure is part of Revenue’s ongoing joint investigations involving organised crime groups and the importation, sale and supply of illegal drugs.
