Revenue seizes 37kg of khat at Dublin Airport

On Saturday (09/07/16), Revenue officers in Dublin Airport seized approximately 37kg of khat. Following routine profiling, a 23 year old Norwegian woman who arrived into Dublin on a flight from Abu Dhabi was stopped and questioned. The drugs, which were found in the passenger’s checked-in baggage, have a street value in excess of €18,500.

The woman was arrested, appeared in Dublin Circuit Court on Saturday afternoon and was remanded in custody to appear again on Friday next, 15 July.
