Revenue seizes cannabis herb worth €240,000

On Friday (09/12/16), as part of an intelligence led, joint operation between Revenue’s Customs Service and the Garda National Drugs and Organised Crime Bureau, approximately 12kg of cannabis herb with an estimated street value of €240,000 was seized at Balbriggan, Co. Dublin.

A 60 year old man was arrested and detained at Swords Garda Station, under the provisions of Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act, 1996. He subsequently appeared at Dublin District Court where he was remanded in custody to appear before Cloverhill District Court on Tuesday the 13th December, 2016.
