Revenue seizes drugs worth €200,000 in Limerick

Today (14/10/16), Revenue’s Customs Officers seized 6kg of cannabis herb and 1.2kg of cocaine when, as part of an intelligence-led, joint operation targeting the illegal importation, sale and supply of drugs and involving Revenue, the Drugs and Organised Crime Bureau and the Limerick Divisional Drug Units and Detective Units, a house was searched in Croom, Co Limerick. The estimated value of the drugs is €200,000.

A 37 year old man was arrested by Gardaí in Limerick. He is currently being detained at Henry Street Garda station under the provisions of Section 2 of the Criminal Justice Drug trafficking Act 1996.

Investigations are ongoing with a view to prosecution.
