Revenue and Gardaí seize herbal cannabis worth €600,000 in Meath
Yesterday (05/07/2017) Revenue Officers, the Garda National Drugs and Organised Crime Bureau and the Serious Crime Task Force seized approximately 30 kilos of herbal cannabis with an estimated street value of €600,000, as part of ongoing joint investigations targeting drug trafficking in the Meath area. The smuggled drugs had earlier arrived in Dublin Port from Spain, concealed in large cylindrical air filters.
A man in his thirties was arrested by Gardaí, and he is currently detained at Finglas Garda Station under the provisions Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drugs Trafficking ) Act 1996 as amended. Investigations are ongoing.
