Revenue seizes €63,750 in cash at Dublin Airport
Yesterday morning (14/05/2017), Revenue officers at Dublin Airport seized €63,750 in two separate cases, when they stopped and questioned two Romanian men, both in their 30s, following routine profiling. The men were travelling separately; both were boarding the same early morning flight to Budapest at 06:00 yesterday. Revenue seized the cash suspecting it to be the proceeds of, or intended for use in, criminal activity.
Today (15/05/2017) at Dublin District Court, Judge Anthony Halpin granted a three month detention order to allow Revenue to investigate further. These investigations are ongoing.
