Revenue seize alcohol and cigarettes worth over €28,000 in Dublin Port
This morning (10/11/2018), during routine operations, Revenue officers seized 1,400 litres of wine, 76 litres of spirits and 7,780 cigarettes in Dublin Port.
The alcohol and cigarettes were discovered when officers stopped and searched a
foreign registered bus and van that had disembarked a ferry from Holyhead. The products were concealed within numerous unaccompanied packages being transported in the bus and van.
The seized alcohol and cigarettes have a combined retail value of €28,440, representing a potential loss to the Exchequer of €16,648.
These seizures are part of Revenue's ongoing operations targeting the supply and sale of illegal alcohol and tobacco products in the shadow economy.
