ICS2 release schedule

ICS2 will be released in three phases as outlined below.

Release 1 - 15 March 2021

Goods covered

All postal and express consignments.

Dataset

Pre-Loading Advance Cargo Information (PLACI) minimum Entry Summary Declaration (ENS) dataset.

 Scope

  • Lodgement of pre-loading minimum data set for air express and postal consignments.
  • Presentation process for postal consignments.

Release 2 – 1 March 2023

Goods covered

Goods in air traffic.

Dataset

Complete Entry Summary Declaration (ENS) dataset for all goods in air transport.

Scope

  • Lodgement of the complete ENS for all goods in air traffic.
  • Lodgement of the arrival notification for all goods in air traffic.
  • Presentation process for air express consignments and general air cargo.

Release 3 - Economic Operators go live dates will be in three steps as follows:

Step 1: 3 June 2024 – 4 December 2024 – maritime and inland waterway carriers

Step 2: 4 December 2024 – 1 April 2025 – maritime and inland waterway house level filers

Step 3: 1 April 2025 – 1 September 2025 – road and rail carriers

Goods in maritime and inland waterways, road and rail traffic.

Dataset

Complete Entry Summary Declaration (ENS) dataset for all goods in these sectors, including postal goods.

Scope

  • Lodgement of the complete ENS for maritime and inland waterways, road and rail traffic. (This includes goods in postal consignments transported in these means of transport).
  • Lodgement of the arrival notification for maritime and inland waterways.
  • Presentation process for all goods on all modes of traffic.

Data protection

The Import, Export and Transit Directory (IET) at OLAF (European Commission anti-fraud office) collects information on the movement of goods for customs purposes. This information is collected from ICS.

The information collected usually refers to companies, but may also refer to individuals. You can find further information on the data collected by the IET in Privacy Statement for IET.
