Customs ports and airports for arrival and departure of vessels and aircraft

Overview

Vessels and aircraft arriving into or departing from the State may only arrive to and depart from places approved by the Revenue Commissioners. Exemptions to this rule may apply where authorised by Revenue.

As provided for under the Customs Act 2015, customs ports and airports have been appointed for this purpose throughout the country. Within these ports and airports specific places have been approved for some or all of the following:

  • the arrival and departure of vessels and aircraft
  • the arrival and departure of passengers, crew and their baggage
  • the loading and unloading of goods, stores and conveyances.

The use of these approved places may be subject to conditions.

In this section you will find information about these customs approved places.
