Revenue seize herbal cannabis worth €280,000 at Dublin Airport
On Friday 15/12/2023, as a result of risk profiling, Revenue officers seized almost 14 kgs of herbal cannabis with an estimated value of €280,000 at Dublin Airport. The illicit drugs were discovered when Revenue officers stopped and searched the baggage of a passenger who had disembarked a flight from Toronto, Canada.
A woman in her 20s was arrested by An Garda Síochána and is currently detained under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act, 1996 at a Dublin Garda Station. Investigations are ongoing.
This seizure is part of Revenue's ongoing operations targeting organised crime groups and the importation, sale and supply of illegal drugs.
