The EU Securitisation Regulation's Notification Requirement
The EU Securitisation Regulation, as amended, provides that investors in certain Securitisation Special Purpose Entities (SSPEs) need to notify their tax authority of such investments.
Notification of Investment (NOI)
Irish resident investors in certain SSPEs are required to submit an NOI to Revenue.
An Irish investor is required to complete an NOI where the SSPE:
- is established after 9 April 2021
- and
- is located in a jurisdiction listed below.
The NOI should be submitted through MyEnquiries. The investor needs to submit the NOI by their tax return due date for the period in which the investment is made.
- Example
Mary invested in an SSPE in Eswatini on 31 May 2023. Mary needs to submit an NOI for this investment via MyEnquiries. The NOI should be submitted by the 2023 Income Tax Return Form 11 filing deadline.
