Revenue fully respects your right to privacy in relation to your interactions with this website [1].

Revenue is committed to fulfilling its obligations imposed by Council Regulation (EU) 2016/679. This is known as the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). You can contact us if you have any queries in relation to data protection issues. These queries may include how to make a data access request, or a request for rectification of your data.

General statement

Revenue collects a wide range of data for the purposes of Revenue's core business. Any information you provide to us in the course of your business with us will be used for those purposes. It will not be shared with third parties unless permitted by law. See Data Protection in Revenue for further information.

Confidentiality and security

Revenue has a legal duty to protect the confidentiality of taxpayer information. Any personal information provided by you will be treated with the highest standards of security and confidentiality. It will be handled strictly in accordance with national Data Protection and Electronic Communications legislation, Revenue policy [2] and applicable European Union (EU) directives.

Throughout the registration process for our online services and when you are submitting sensitive information such as that required in a tax return, the information is encrypted. This is to protect confidentiality. It is transmitted with a Digital Certificate in the case of Revenue Online Service (ROS), and protected according to industry best practice.
