Revenue seize alcohol and cigarettes in Dublin Port

On Saturday morning (23/03/2019), Revenue officers seized 4,260 cigarettes and 450 litres of alcohol worth almost €8,000 in Dublin Port.

The cigarettes and alcohol were discovered when officers stopped and searched a foreign-registered van that had disembarked a ferry from Holyhead. The tobacco products were branded ‘Kent’, ‘Pall Mall’, ‘Parliament’ and ‘Dunhill’. The seized products have a combined retail value of €7,820, representing a potential loss to the Exchequer of €4,670.

Investigations are ongoing.

This seizure is part of Revenue's ongoing operations targeting the supply and sale of illegal alcohol and tobacco products in the shadow economy.
