Revenue seize cocaine worth €1.4 million at Dublin Port

Last Saturday (22/01/2022), in an intelligence led operation, Revenue officers seized 20 kgs of cocaine with an estimated value of €1.4 million at Dublin Port. The illegal drugs were found, with the assistance of detector dog Laddie, concealed in a refrigeration unit of a vehicle that was stopped and searched. 

The seizure was made as a result of a joint operation conducted by Revenue’s Customs Service, the Garda National Drugs & Organised Crime Bureau (GNDOCB) and the Wicklow/Wexford Division in the Eastern Region. 

A man in his 20s was arrested by An Garda Síochána and is currently detained under Section 2 of The Criminal Justice (Drugs Trafficking) Act 1996 at Blanchardstown Garda Station. Investigations are ongoing.

This operation was part of Revenue’s ongoing joint investigations targeting transnational organised crime and the importation, sale and supply of illegal drugs.
