Revenue seize herbal cannabis worth €544,000 at Dublin Airport

Yesterday (26/03/2023), as a result of routine operations, Revenue seized 27.2kgs of herbal cannabis with an estimated value of €544,000 at Dublin Airport.

The illicit drugs were seized when a passenger was stopped and his luggage searched following his arrival off a flight from Johannesburg, via Dubai. The drugs were discovered concealed within vacuum packed packages in the passenger’s luggage.

A man in his 60s was arrested by An Garda Síochána and is currently detained under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act 1996 at a Garda station in North County Dublin.

Investigations are ongoing.
