Revenue seize herbal cannabis worth €1,080,000 in Dublin
Yesterday (18/05/2023), as part of an intelligence-led operation, Revenue officers seized approximately 54kgs of herbal cannabis with an estimated value of €1,080,000 in Dublin. The seizure was made as a result of a joint operation conducted by Revenue’s Customs Service, the Garda National Drugs and Organised Crime Bureau (GNDOCB) and the DMR North Central Divisional Drug Unit.
A man in his 40s was arrested by An Garda Síochána and is currently detained under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act 1996 at a Garda Station in Dublin. Investigations are ongoing.
This seizure is part of Revenue’s ongoing joint investigations targeting organised crime groups and the importation, sale and supply of illegal drugs.
