Revenue seize over 430,000 cigarettes in County Cavan
Today (19/10/2023), as part of an intelligence-led operation and with the assistance of An Garda Síochána, Revenue officers seized over 430,000 cigarettes in County Cavan.
The seizure was made following the search of a vehicle.
The illicit cigarettes, branded ‘Sobranie’, have a retail value of over €341,000, representing a potential loss to the Exchequer of approximately €267,000.
A man in his 20s has been questioned and investigations are ongoing.
