Revenue seize cannabis worth almost €611,000 in Dublin, the Midlands and Shannon Airport
Yesterday (04/01/2024), as a result of risk profiling, Revenue officers examining parcels at a premises in Dublin seized 14.2kgs of herbal cannabis with an estimated value of almost €285,000. The illicit drugs were discovered in parcels which had originated in Thailand and were destined for addresses in Dublin.
In a separate operation yesterday, as a result of risk profiling and with the assistance of detector dog Enzo, Revenue officers examining parcels at a premises in the Midlands seized 11.8kgs of herbal cannabis. The illicit drugs, with an estimated value of €236,000, were discovered in parcels originating from France and Spain and were destined for addresses in Dublin and Galway.
Additionally, as part of separate operations during the course of this week, Revenue officers seized 4.5kgs of herbal cannabis at Shannon Airport. These seizures were made as a result of risk profiling and with the assistance of detector dog Harley. The illicit drugs, with an estimated value of €90,000, were discovered in parcels originating from the USA and were destined for addresses in Clare, Limerick and Cork.
Investigations are ongoing.
