Revenue seize contraband worth almost €350,000 in Dublin and the Midlands

Over the course of the past week (week commencing 30/09/2024), Revenue officers examining parcels at premises in Dublin and the Midlands seized approximately 13.2 kgs of herbal cannabis and over 5 kgs of 4-Methylpentedrone (MPD), with a total combined value of €316,000, during the course of numerous operations. Various quantities of other illegal drugs, with an estimated value of €7,300, were also seized.

The illegal drugs were discovered, as a result of risk profiling and with the assistance of detector dogs Sam and Grace, in parcels that originated in the UK, the Netherlands, the USA, Canada and Thailand, and were intended for addresses nationwide.

Revenue officers also seized a quantity of retail goods, with an estimated value of over €24,500, due to infringements of Intellectual Property Rights.
