Customs advice for truck drivers using Irish ports

Health and safety at Irish ports

Every port is unique in terms of its physical configuration and range of activities undertaken. It is important to be aware of the environment you are driving in.

You should note the following  important points:

  • You should ensure that you follow the instructions on signs in the port and its terminals.
  • You should observe all speed limits and keep a safe distance from the vehicle in front at all times.
  • You should use the clearly marked walkways that are provided, when accessing the welfare facilities or other areas or buildings which you may need to visit.
  • Do not use a mobile phone while driving.
