Overview
The United KIngdom (UK), including Northern Ireland (NI), is formally no longer a member of the European Union (EU).
As part of the Withdrawal Agreement, the Revised Protocol on Ireland and Northern Ireland came into effect on 1 January 2021. The EU-UK Trade and Cooperation Agreement has applied provisionally since 1 January 2021. Following consent by the European Parliament, the Agreement entered into force on 1 May 2021.
Revenue's objective is to facilitate legitimate trade in moving goods as speedily and efficiently as possible. On the next page are some essential preparation steps for businesses that:
