Decision Support Service (DSS)

The DSS is a public body established to promote the rights and interests of people who may need support with decision-making. For further information on the DSS, their services and the various decision support arrangements available, please use their website www.decisionsupportservice.ie.

The DSS is responsible for keeping a register of co-decision-making agreements, decision making representation orders and enduring powers of attorney. If you are:

  • a decision supporter
  • a decision-making representative
  • or
  • an attorney under any of these arrangements

we will need to confirm the position with the DSS before we can deal with you. Your patience is appreciated while we verify the terms of the arrangement.

If you are contacting us as part of a decision-making assistance agreement, we will require:

  • a certified copy of the agreement
  • and
  • the consent of the direct customer (taxpayer) before we can deal with you.

If you would like to contact us in relation to a decision support arrangement, please use our normal contact channels including MyEnquiries and our telephone lines.
