Revenue seize contraband worth over €16 million in Rosslare
On Saturday (10/08/2024), as a result of risk profiling and with the assistance of Revenue’s x-ray scanner and detector dog Jasper, Revenue Officers seized approximately 783 kgs of herbal cannabis and 70 kgs of cannabis resin, with an estimated value of approximately €16,086,000, at Rosslare Europort.
The illicit drugs were discovered when Revenue officers, with the assistance of An Garda Síochána, stopped and searched an unaccompanied freight unit which had disembarked a ferry from Bilbao, Spain. Investigations are ongoing.
