Revenue seize contraband worth over €240,000 in Dublin
Over the course of the past week, week commencing 2 September 2024, Revenue officers examining parcels at a premises in Dublin seized approximately 10.2 kgs of herbal cannabis with an estimated value of €204,400, during the course of numerous operations. Various quantities of other illegal drugs, with an estimated value of €3,400, were also seized.
The illicit drugs were discovered, as a result of risk profiling and with the assistance of detector dog Sam, in parcels that originated in the USA, the United Kingdom, Canada and Thailand, and were intended for addresses nationwide.
Revenue officers also seized a quantity of retail goods, with an estimated value of approximately €32,500, due to infringements of Intellectual Property Rights.
