Bookmaker's Licence
Certificate of Personal Fitness
Revenue may only issue a Bookmaker’s Licence where the applicant holds a Certificate of Personal Fitness. An Garda Síochána is the issuing body for such certificates for people that reside within Ireland.
The Minister for Justice and Equality is the issuing body for such certificates for people that reside outside Ireland.
The Certificate of Personal Fitness confirms that:
- an individual
- or
- the relevant officer of a partnership or body corporate
is a fit and proper person to hold a Bookmaker’s Licence.
Each relevant officer must obtain a certificate.
Further information and application forms are available from the Office of the Minister for Justice and Equality.
You must apply to Revenue for your licence within 21 days of the issue of your certificate(s).
