Important information for those adversely impacted by Storms Éowyn and Herminia

Revenue is aware that the exceptional weather events over recent days have caused difficulties for many, and understands that this disruption can impact timely tax compliance.

Revenue will work with those taxpayers and businesses that have been adversely impacted by Storms Éowyn and Herminia, to ensure that good compliance records can remain on track despite the disruption caused.

Speaking today, 27/01/2025, Mr Joe Howley, Collector-General, said:

“The recent storms over the weekend may have impacted taxpayers and businesses in different ways, and we are aware that this is a worrying time for those affected.

Revenue will be pragmatic in its approach where taxpayers or agents have been delayed in filing returns due to internet connectivity issues arising as a result of damage caused by the adverse weather conditions over the weekend.

Revenue has a proven track record in successfully agreeing flexible payment arrangements where taxpayers and businesses are facing temporary cash flow difficulties, and we will work with those affected by the recent storms to take their financial circumstances and capacity to pay into account.

Our advice to taxpayers and businesses impacted by the disruption caused by Storms Éowyn and Herminia is to contact the Collector-General’s office once their circumstances allow, to agree mutually suitable arrangements to restore timely tax compliance.”
