Travelling with cash - where to make your declaration
You must give your completed cash declaration form to Customs at the:
- airport
- port
- or
- land frontier
through which you enter or leave the European Union (EU).
Dublin Airport
If you depart from Dublin Airport, you should make your cash declaration by using the courtesy phone to contact the main Customs office. The courtesy phone is found in the public area of the arrivals hall.
If you arrive at Dublin Airport, you should give your cash declaration form to a Customs officer in the red channel.
Shannon Airport
If you depart from Shannon Airport, you should make your cash declaration in the Customs booth in the transit lounge. If the Customs booth is unattended, you should put your cash declaration form in the box provided.
If you arrive in Shannon Airport, you should make your cash declaration to a Customs officer in the Customs hall. If a Customs officer is not present, you should put your declaration form in the post box provided.
Knock Airport
At Knock Airport, cash declaration forms are available in the arrivals hall. They can be found on the wall opposite baggage belt number 1 in the baggage reclaim area.
In the departures area, cash declaration forms are available in the screening area at the entrance to the departure lounge.
If a Customs officer is not present, you should place your completed cash declaration form in the post box provided.
Other airports and ports
If you depart, or arrive, at other airports or ports, you should make your cash declaration by contacting the Customs authorities at these airports or ports.
