If you are leaving Ireland and ceasing your job

If you are leaving your job before leaving Ireland, it is the responsibility of your employer to cease your employment with Revenue. If your employer fails to do this, you should:

  1. Login to myAccount.
  2. Click the 'View/Cease your Job or Pension Details' option, under 'PAYE Services'.
  3. Click 'Cease job/pension'.
  4. Input the date your employment ceased.
  5. Enter your myAccount password and click 'Submit'.

Pay As You Earn (PAYE) Exclusion Order

If you are working abroad for an Irish employer, you may be exempt from Irish tax. Please see What is a PAYE Exclusion Order? to check if you are eligible.

Non-residents

If you are non-resident, you are required to pay Irish tax on any Irish sourced income. For example, rental income from an Irish property. Please see Tax residence for further information.
