Launch of a Sign Language Interpreting service to Revenue’s deaf customers

Revenue is pleased to announce that members of the Deaf community can now access our services through IRIS (Irish Remote Interpreting Services). This is a free service for all Deaf customers.

The service will be provided by the Sign Language Interpreting Service, the national Sign Language Interpreting Service for Ireland. Deaf people will now be able to communicate to Revenue staff in their own language (Irish Sign Language) with an Irish Sign Language Interpreter on screen.

To begin with, this service will operate on a trial basis in the Central Revenue Information Office in Cathedral Street, off O’Connell Street in Dublin. It is hoped that the service will be extended to all of Revenue’s public offices in the near future.

The provision of this service is in line with our commitment to making our services accessible to all our customers.
