How to use this module

The ‘Introduction to Tax’ module contains a variety of free materials including:

• PowerPoint presentations.
• Lesson plans.
• Student activities.
• Answer booklets.
• Any additional supplementary materials.
• Pre and post module questionnaires.

Detailed lesson plans are included for each unit. However, Revenue recognises that each student is unique. Therefore, teachers are encouraged to review the unit materials before teaching the unit to allow them to adapt the materials to suit their class.

Internet access is recommended but not essential. Where internet access is not available, alternative exercises are provided except for some supplementary materials in Unit 5.

Self-Assessment

The module does not contain an examination for students. Students are assessed on completion of a learning journal as well as their participation in the class.

Certificate of Completion

A Certificate of Completion is available for students by sending a request to taxeducation@revenue.ie. Please include your full name and school roll number. Students should have completed at least 3 of the 8 units to receive the certificate.
