Revenue seize herbal cannabis worth €117,000

Yesterday, 16/12/2024, as part of an intelligence-led joint operation, Revenue officers seized approximately 5.85 kgs of herbal cannabis with an estimated value of €117,000 in the South Dublin area.

The seizure was made as a result of a joint operation conducted by Revenue’s Customs Service, the Garda National Drugs and Organised Crime Bureau (GNDOCB) and the Terenure Divisional Drugs Unit. During the course of this search, approximately €5,400 cash was also recovered.

In a follow up search, a further 5 kgs of herbal cannabis with an estimated value of €100,000, and a small quantity of cash, was detected by Gardaí. A man in his 20s was arrested by An Garda Síochána and is currently detained at a Garda Station in Dublin under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act, 1996. Investigations are ongoing.
