Revenue seize contraband worth €500,000 in Co. Kildare

On 17/02/2025, as part of an intelligence-led operation, Revenue officers seized 10.19kgs of the drug 4Methyl methcathinone HCL (M-Cat) with an estimated value of approximately €500,000 (subject to analysis) in Newbridge, Co. Kildare.

A male, aged 18, was arrested by An Garda Síochána and is currently detained at a Garda Station in Co. Kildare under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act, 1996.

This seizure was made as a result of a joint operation conducted by Revenue’s Customs Service, the Garda National Drugs and Organised Crime Bureau (GNDOCB) and Newbridge Drugs and Crime Unit.

Investigations are ongoing.
