How will the Automated Import System (AIS) impact your business?
Customs agents
If you are a Customs agent, you may use
- your own internally developed and supported customs software
- or
- software provided by an external systems provider.
In all cases, you should ensure that:
- the customs software you are using can interface with AIS
- and
- your staff are familiar with the content and structure of declarations and message types.
All staff involved in completing import declarations in the AIS should refer to the following documents for guidance:
Note
If you lodge, or plan to lodge, export declarations, you must use the Automated Export System (AES) using the relevant AES software.
