Upcoming changes for the AIS

The Union Customs Code (UCC) introduced the following changes to existing customs procedures:

  • The structure and content of electronic import declarations reflects the European Union Customs Data Model (EUCDM). AIS Version 1 (V1) is based primarily on Version 5.1 of EUCDM.
  • The system will be updated in 2025 to AIS Version 2 (V2) which will be primarily aligned to Version 6.2 of EUCDM. This update will include the introduction of:
    • Centralised Clearance for Import Phase 1 and Phase 2
    • and
    • G5 Arrival notification in case of movement of goods under tempoary storage
