Update civil status

You can notify Revenue of a change to your civil status through myAccount.

Who is the service for?

This service is for anyone who wishes to notify Revenue of a change to their civil status.

How to request your civil status to be updated

You can request your civil status to be updated through ‘My Profile’ or ‘Manage My Record’ on myAccount.

You may have an option to upload supporting documentation when requesting your status to be updated.

Your spouse or civil partner must log onto their own myAccount profile to  confirm the request.

How to access the service 

There are two options to access this service through myAccount.

Option one:

  • click on ‘My Profile’
  • select ‘My Details’
  • click on ‘Edit’ in the Personal Details tab
  • select your new civil status from the dropdown menu
  • provide all relevant information as requested.

Option two:

  • click on ‘Manage My Record’ card
  • select ‘Update Civil Status’
  • select your new civil status from the dropdown menu
  • provide all relevant information as requested.
